Robert Rice Howard (1873 – 1903) , Australian Hangman who was described as the ugliest hangman in the world due to the fact he had no nose, the result of a horse drawn cab accident. He was a cabbie) . He was nicknamed 'Nosey Bob' and was Sydney’s State Executioner, hangman, for a period of 30 years . He also acted as executioner for a period in New Zealand. The last woman to be hung in NSW was Louisa Collins (at the hands of Howard and his assistant named Stepping.)
