Delores Pullard, Amazon Girl
Delores Ann Pullard (August 13, 1946 - May 19, 1971) joined the Walter Wamous sideshow when she was 19, was billed as "The Tallest Woman in the World" and claimed to be 8 feet 1 inch tall, though her medically recorded height was 7 feet inches. She weighed 431 pounds and wore size 23 shoes. After about 3 years working for the sideshow she married James Johnson. She underwent surgery to remove a tumor in the pituitary gland at the base of her brain. Although it was initially thought that she was in satisfactory condition after the operation, she never recovered and her died at the age of 24.
