EXACTLY 50 years after the original 'sit down protest ' on Trefechan Bridge, in Aberystwyth, by some 40 young members of the Welsh Language Society, over 500 people from all over Wales gathered to remember and recreate the event. Results for the 2011 Census, released this week , show that the Welsh language is in decline in its tradition heartlands, such as Ceredigion in west Wales.
