The "Moongate" is an important part of Bermudian architecture. It is considered good luck for a bride and groom to walk through on their wedding day.

The Moongate is a Bermudian type of archway usually leading to a garden or at the front of a property as a decorative form of architecture. It is typically constructed using limestone blocks cemented together and formed into an archway with a "keystone" at the very top. It has origins in China and it is said to be good luck for a bride and groom to walk through one on their wedding day. Traditionally, couples have their wedding photographs taken while they are standing under the Moongate.
