Itis gratifying that this is about to be carried is now, and has been for recent years, theMecca of summer excursionists. Our streets and pub-lic places are full of visitors during the months of July,August and September. Even the month of Octobersees little diminution of the crowd of sightseeingpeople. They should be encouraged to come andlearn of this old town. It should be correct informa-tion that they gather. There is too much fictitiousand manufactured historic matter afloat. There arethose who seem delighted when such can be told tothose who ask about things they see. Those who lovethis old colonial town should see to it that what visit-ors take away is a correct knowledge of its actual his-tory and what its prominent men and women actuallydid in their day for their town and country. A littleintelligent effort will accomplish much along this line. 224. •
