LOADING PLATFORM AND CARS READY FOR THE RACE-TRACK CROWD The limited number of cars owned by the Hot SpringsStreet Railroad, together with the fact that all those peopleattending the races want to go to the grounds and return tothe city at practically the same time, necessitated the adop-tion of some unusual methods in handling passengers. At the race track there is a load-ing yard 800 ft. long by about125 ft. wide, enclosed in a picketfence 8 ft. high. At one end is built aloading shed 180 ft. long and 35 , and from which several gates giveentrance to the grounds. The loadingyards contain storage tracks for twenty-five cars. All the cars going to theraces are put in special service and nofares are collected on them. Instead,the fares are collected as the passengersgo through the gates leading into thegrounds. At the termination of theraces about twenty-five cars are waitingin the loading yard and fares are col-lected as passengers pass through thegates. Four cars are drawn up
