220917-N-PL946-1021 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 17, 2022) Aviation Ordnanceman 1st Class Loran Kennedy stands at attention as a member of the rifle detail during a burial at sea aboard the first-in-class aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78). During the ceremony, the cremated remains of 30 souls were committed to the sea in the Atlantic Ocean. Ford is underway in the Atlantic Ocean conducting carrier qualifications and workups for a scheduled deployment this fall.
