A juvenile chimp still needs the comfort of mum CHESTER ZOO, UK INCREDIBLE IMAGES show a juvenile chimp doing his best King Kong impression while a newborn chimpanzee clings to its mother. Images show a young chimp giving a mighty roar while hanging from a tree, a newborn chimp is not leaving mums side while the big boys make a fuss. These images were captured by photographer Gary Cox (52) from Manchester UK in Chester Zoo, UK. Gary captured the images on his Canon EOS 80D. He loves capturing chimps as they give the same range of emotions as humans. ?The chimps were making such a noise, it sounded like a riot. All the chimps were charging around the enclosure baring their teeth at each other. A few parents seemed to be taking their young out of the way, even though it was probably just play fighting,? said Gary. ?Mother ZeeZee was seen with her newborn who is not yet named clinging strongly to her back. ?One of the slightly older young chimps was halfway up a tree, also staying out of the way. ?I spotted him out of the corner of my eye so instantly ran to get a good view. I managed a few shots before he got back down. ?I love the chimp in the tree. I had not seen this before and it was a great pose for the camera, particularly where he was waving his arms around. ?I could imagine him swatting tiny planes, like King Kong on top of the Empire State Building. ?They can be so expressive, both in their actions and their facial expressions. You never quite know what they are going to do next. And the babies are very cute of course. ?Ape photos go down very well. Chimp and Gorilla photos seem to be very popular, more so than monkeys. ?People love the expressions captured in the ENDS
