Mrs. Begg thereafter, during many years of her long widow-hood, managed to support herself and the younger branchesof her family by teaching. She resided successively at Ormis-ton and Tranent in East Lothian till June, 1843, when sheremoved with her two daughters, Agnes and Isabella, to BridgeHouse, near Ayr. Her death occurred there on 4th December,1858, in the midst of the preparations for celebrating the cen-tenary of her brothers birth, and her remains were interred inher fathers grave at Kirk l)Vx (^^da-fre-M^-.
