An experimental carbine, circa 1850. Octagonal blued barrel merging to round with a rifled bore in 15 mm calibre. Dovetailed sights with a folding rear sight. Stamped with a "V" and a crown on the breech, Percussion lock with the maker's inscription "Suhl " Iron carbine staple with an old collection label attached. Walnut stock with iron/brass furniture. There is a "B" with a crown stamped on the trigger guard. Remnants of sealing wax on the butt stock. Exceptional condition with original bluing and browning. Barrel and staple are slightly pitted in places.,
