Rethel was German history painter, born in 1816 in Aachen, Germany, who died on December 1, 1859 in Dusseldorf, Germany. Engraving published in Systematischer Bilder Atlas - Bauwesen, Ikonographische Encyklopaedie der Wissenschaften und Kuenste (Brockhaus, Leipzig) in 1875.
