The Black-necked Crane Festival is held annually in Gangtey Gompa in the high-altitude Phobjikha Valley of Bhutan. It aims to promote awareness and conservation of the black-necked cranes (Grus nigricollis) that visit the valley each year, but also includes many traditional Buddhist religious dances.
