Old 12 'pound scots' banknote issued in April 1716 by Bank of Scotland. 12 'pounds scots' was equal to one pound sterling. This image is reconstructed from the banknote which has been torn into 2 parts which was a standard practice when sending money by stage or postal service. Each half was sent separately so both parts were needed to realise the value of the note.
