SEABURN, Thomas (deceased), formerly awell-known and enterprising farmer in NewSalem Township, McDonough County, Hi., wasborn in Ross County, Ohio, August 24, 1830,a son of Jacob and Mary (McGrady) Seaburn,the former a native of Berkeley County, Va.,and the latter of Pennsylvania. The paternalgrandmother was Annie (Van Osdell) an early age the subject of this sketch camewith his parents from Ohio to Fulton County,where the family lived until 1860. In boyhoodhe attended the common schools and assisted hisfather in the work of the farm. He remainedwith his parents imtil his marriage, when hemoved to a farm of 160 acres in the northwest. D. E. He died December23, 1903, and was buried at Penningtons February 22, 1860, Mr. Seaburn was unitedin marriage with Annie E, .Johnston, who wasborn in Pike County. 111., and there ed-ucated: Five children resulted from thisunion, namely: Johnston Mary Luella ( B. Woods), Frank and Jay and Jessie,twins, of whom the latter married Walter Sper-ling. Mrs. Seaburns parents, David and Sarah(Day) Johnston, were natives, respectively, ofVirginia and Kentucky. Her paternal grandfa-ther, Joseph Day. was a native of Seaburn. with the assistance of her conducts the home farm. Politically. gave his support to the Republicanparty. He served several terms as Assessor ofhis township and also held the office of Town-ship Collector. Religiously
