In considering the future of Palestine in 1947, the UNSCOP (The United Nations Special Committee on Palestine) majority proposal was for a two-state solution. However, this solution was not supported by India, Iran or Yugoslavia, who together proposed a Federal solution, being a common country consisting of a Jewish State and an Arab State.
