Nowhere in the West can be found Mich con-venient and satisfactory provision for demonstration work and illustrated lectures as in the largedemonstration room on the first floor of this build-ing. It will seat 160 and the comfortable Colum-bia University chairs are so arranged in tiers thatnot only can every one present see everything beingdone by the lecturer, but the artistic effect is alsopreserved. This room will be used not only by. PALMER HALL. found in our own native state, and covered withgreen tile, it stands out boldly as an ornament toour campus and as the peer of every building inthis city of artistic architecture. Some of the features are so unique in this build-ing that especial articles are being written byscientific journals describing them. Very liberal provision has been made for labor-atory work and it will be seen by reading the fol-lowing that the most economical use will be madeof all space in order to care for our rapidly grow-ing classes. Before we take up the description of the De-partments of Chemistry, Physics, Biology andGeology, we will glance at one or two features all the departments of the College, but also bythe public. Another thing of beauty is the enormous mu-seum. This room is 125 feet long. 60 feet wide,and the beautiful paneled ceiling is suspended onbeams 24 feet above the floor. And we have thatmagnificent set of collections,
