Mesozoic reptiles. Artwork of some of the dinosuars and flying and marine reptiles that inhabited the Earth during the Mesozoic Era (251 to 65 million years ago). Not all of the animals shown here lived at the same time, as the Mesozoic Era covered nearly 200 million years of evolution. In the air are pterosaurs (lower left and upper right). In the sea are ichthyosaurs (lower left). On the land are dinosaurs such as a duck-billed dinosaur (lower right), Stegosaurus and Triceratops (upper centre) and sauropod dinosaurs (upper left). Prehistoric plants are also seen.
