140616-N-ZZ999-002 ROTA, Spain (June 16, 2014) – The guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG 71) arrives at Naval Station Rota to begin her mission of forward deployment to the 6th Fleet area of operations. Ross is the second of four Arleigh Burke-class destroyers to be forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, to serve as part of the President's European Phased Adaptive Approach (EPAA) to ballistic missile defense in Europe.
