Pitzer WITH a great deal of labor andwriting these facts have beengathered from the differentbrethren who have served on the Mis-sion Board. Not all of them live in theDistrict now, hence the difficulty. The biographies are arranged inthe order of selection to this work,as far as we can learn, Bro. Austin being one of the firstthree to serve on the Board. Hewas born in Champaign County, Ohio,in November, 1842. His father was an exhorter, or local preacher. About1854 his father moved toward theWest. He enlisted in the Civil War in1861. After the war he was thoroughlyconverted from the ravages of war. Hewas then married to Sister from place to place, he finallylocated at Burr Oak, Kans. Here heattended the first love feast of theBrethren; here he united with thechurch. He was elec
