He died in1852 and his wife in 1871. Their family consisted of six children who grewto maturity: Franklin, of Milton: George W.; Clementine, wife of SamuelHoffa, of Milton; Catharine, wife of Michael Rissell, of Milton; Lewis, de-ceased, and Annie, Mrs. William Heinen, deceased. The subject of thissketch came to Northumberland coimty at the age of eight years; he receivedhis education at the township schools, and has always lived upon his present. ^^>^^^y4^:/^ BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES. 1119 farm. In 1864 he married Rebecca, daughter of George T. and Catharine(Martin) Gauby, natives of Berks county, who came to Xorthumberhindcounty in 1840 and located in Milton. Mr. Gauby was a deacon b the Bap-tist church, and died in Milton in ]SS9; his wife still survives him. Theyreared four children: Reese D., of Florida; Mary, Mrs. Snyder, ofMilton; Rebecca, Mrs. G. W. Funk, and Lydia, deceased. The subject ofthis sketch has no children. He is independent in politics with prohibitionproclivities. He is a stockliolder in the Milton Driving Park Association, anda member of Turbut Grange, P. of H. Mr. and :\lrs. Funk are m^mljers ofthe Bajitist church of Milton.
