Climate change protesters block the M25 at junction 31 near Lakeside, West Thurrock, Essex as they demand government action on home insulation. Thousands of motorists were inconvenienced by the protest with people missing flights and hospital appointments as well as being late for work and school. Lorry drivers were unable to access the HGV COVID-19 testing centre at Lakeside. Protest group Insulate Britain said action would go on until a "meaningful commitment" was made. September 13, 2021.
