The filefish (Monacanthidae) are a diverse family,also known as foolfish, leatherjackets or shingles. They are found in tropical and sub-tropical waters around the world, where they inhabit shallow lagoons and coral reefs. They feed on algae, sea grass, anemones and tunicates.
