The image captures him with a container of dynamite, which was discovered by the 103rd Regiment Engineers, 28th Division, after the Germans retreated. The dynamite was found planted underneath one of the buildings of Abbaye de Igny, a monastery in France. The photo was taken on August 17, 1918.
