Contemporary paper cutting by Miss Wanda Skowron from Warszawa Poland

Wanda Skowron was born in 1936 in Warsaw, Poland. She studied history and taught, ran libraries and even worked as a clerk. Her long life was as colourful and diverse as her own paper-cuttings. She has practiced the art of paper-cuttings from an early age. She represents in them the plants, birds or fragments of landscapes. "Traditional paper-cuttings were created using sheep shearing scissors but it is possible to use any scissors as long as they have a sharp points. The scissors are used as a drawing tool without the need to mark or draw the design first." Wanda Skowron paper-cutting artist from Warszawa (Warsaw) Poland
