It breeds principally below an elevation of 1,000 feet, but at Ashe-ville, N. C, it breeds at 2,000 feet altitude, and has been noted up to3,500 feet. Winter Range.—Southern Mexico to Colombia, South in the West Indies. Fall Migration.—The southward movement begins the last ofJuly, and on October 7 the species has been taken at the extremesouthern limit of its known range in Colombia, South America.
