Cycloamylose molecule, illustration

Illustration of two cycloamylose molecules. Each molecule contains 26 glucose residues that are folded into two short helices. This folding forms two cavities that are able to hold other molecules. Cycloamylose is being investigated as a possible biomaterial for delivering genes or proteins to cells.
