Band-tailed Pigeon (Columba fasciata) sitting on branch in Issaquah, WA. They are common in oak and conifer-oak woods, and usually are found in small flocks. They feed on fruit and seeds, including acorns. Our pigeons are very cautious, and always first land on a nearby branch first to check the situation out to assure all is safe before going to the ground to feed on the birdseed.
