Shoulder muscles. Computer artwork of an anterior view of some of the muscles (red) of the shoulders and their attachments to the bones of the chest, back and upper arms. The shoulder muscles are the coracobrachialis and pectoralis minor muscles. The coracobrachialis muscle runs from the coracoid process of the scapula (shoulder blade) to the middle of the humerus (upper arm bone). The pectoralis minor muscle runs from the third to fifth ribs to the coracoid process of the scapula. The brachialis muscle runs from the middle of the humerus to the ulna in the lower arm. The joints at left include the ligaments (white).
