As the need was felt new officers wereelected. It is, however, significant that the Connexion hadattained its jubilee before a treasurer was appointed, thefirst to fill that position being James Firth, of that year—1859—a voluntary Contingent Fund wasestablished. Evidently there had been little money to dealwith, and the Meeting, as far as one can judge, waschary at asking for it. The Connexional Committee was alsoat intervals enlarged and made representative of the Circuits,until the present arrangement was reached:—President,.
