While detained here, I took occasion to visit themonument erected at the Initial Point, on the Pacific,of the boundary between the United States and Mexi-co, one marine league south of the southernmost point TO SAN DIEGO. 105 of the Bay of San Diego. It is an obelisk of whitemarble, resting on a pedestal, and is about twenty feetin height.
