This action wassubsequently ratified by the Joint Committee of Councils on Soldiers andSailors Monument, and the sum of $10,000 was fixed upon for the cost of10,000 copies of the book. The general direction and scope of thepublication was entrusted, by Mayor Blankenburg, to a special AdvisoryCommittee. The book was completed at the end of the year nineteenhundred and thirteen.
