Mt Rainier seen from Mission ridge about 69 miles northeast during winter appears very large because of the relatively low lands surrounding the peak.

Mount Rainier, also known as Tahoma, is a large active stratovolcano located 59 miles south-southeast of Seattle. With a summit elevation of 14,411 ft it is the highest mountain in the state of Washington. Here seen during a cold clear winter day.
