5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 21, 2017) Sailors and Marines aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) separate mail and packages during an underway replenishment with the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Washington Chambers (T-AKE 11). Carter Hall is part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
