Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry MV 'Argyll' ( Earra Ghaidheal ) waits at Rothesay harbour, Isle Of Bute, Bute And Argyll, Scotland, Europe. Caledonian MacBrayne runs two ferries (Mv Argyll and MV Bute) from Wemyss Bay on the mainland to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. They are 72 metres in length, witha top speed of 14 knots. They can carry 450 passengers and 60 cars. They also come with a cafe, louge and shop! The crossing is aproximately 35 minutes. Both ferries run the trip, crossing on the Firth Of Clyde. Apart from a ferry crossing North of The island this is the only public transport to and from Bute. As you leave Rothesay you can't miss the huge 'Haste Ye Back' sign situated in the harbour.
