Evidently there has come about a very striking change in Republican sentiment, asshown in this mere fact that every Republicanmember of the House has deliberately placedhimself upon an uncompromising gold standardplatform. The Senate will debate the bill at con-siderable length, and will doubtless pass it in aform different enough so that a week or two ofconference will be required to give the measure
