For early use, sow seed of the early kinds in the hot-bed, or in a box In the house, early In February, and transplant ihem in the open ground in April, in rows two feet apart and eighteen inches between the plants in a row; or sow in a seed-bed outside as soon as the soil can be worked, if you do not care for real early cabbage. These may be trans- planted in about four weeks. For second early cabbage, sow in April and transplant in May. For late cabbage, sow in May and transplant In June, in rows three feet apart and two feet apart ic the row.
