St Mary's Church, Harlington, Bedfordshire. St Mary’s is built of Totternhoe stone. It mainly dates from the late 13th and early 14th c, with the present tower replacing the first in the 15th c. An earlier church probably existed on the site. St Mary’s has had some notable vicars. William Spencer was a renowned artist, and John Benet who was vicar for nearly thirty years, wrote his famous English Chronicles.
