A load of three times nor-mal rating can be carried for five minutes without in-jury, and under tests made before shipment loads offrom five to six times normal were carried withoutsparking. All of the fields of both generators are connectedto the low side to reduce the possibility of in-jury from high voltage. A simple form of flash bar-rier is provided for the commutators similar to thatsupplied on other high-voltage, direct-current
