Park and Museum La Farga del Roquer del Arbúcies in the region of La Selva province of Gerona, Catalonia, Spain
The Arbúcies valley is dominated by the Agudes hill and surrounded by the Montseny mountains, with all the secrets that the massif hides. Located in the heart of the Montseny Natural Park and the Guilleries area, the changing landscape of the lush forests and the purity of the waters make it a must-see destination for lovers of nature, hiking and Farga del Roquer was built between 1846 and 1848, and functioned as a copper forge until 1873. From that moment and until the beginning of the 1970s, the building and its water use system were used successively as a leather tannery, turnery, sawmill and coach bodywork. The building and the entire hydraulic system were restored and visitors can now see it in operation, as well as enjoy the audiovisual La memoria del agua, which explains the pre-industrial and industrial uses of water from the Arbúcies stream throughout history.
