They are not only useful for dissecting, butform convenient receptacles for stains, clearingsolutions, &c, as a thin film forms between thecapsule and the cover when the latter is in place,and keeps the contents from evaporating. Forstaining sections, however, we have found anordinary artists porcelain palette, with welleddivisions, as useful as anything, and the white back-ground is often of service.
