Japanese woman in traditional costume working at a seafood stall in a market. Omi-cho Market (Omicho Ichiba), Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Hokuriku Region of northern Japan. This market dates back to the middle of the 18th century, in the Edo period, and has been Kanazawa's largest fresh food market for much if not all of that time. There are around 170 stalls, and it is a major drawcard for local people at lunchtime as well as tourists.
