The water is then boiled for a shorttime to drive out gases adhering to the electrodes, and theflask is then connected mth a hydrometer, Fig. 1 (seealso Zeit. f. Anal. Cbcm., 1887, 531), acid is run iu and the hydrogen evolved, on the thallium dissolving it ii col-lected in thc< hydrometer and read off and asthallium.
