Svante Arrhenius (1859-1927), Swedish chemist, and his wife. Svante is best known as one of the founders of physical chemistry. He received the 1902 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and became director of the Nobel Institute in 1905. The Arrhenius equation, Arrhenius definition of an acid, lunar crater Arrhenius, the mountain of Arrheniusfjellet and the Arrhenius Labs at Stockholm University are named after him.
