For planting in rows or groups on the lawn, or for inter- spersing among the shrubbery, they are invaluable. The flowers form perfect rosettes of the most lovely colors. It is not surprising that this old favorite should again become popular; for, by careful selection, the flowers have been so much improved that they are marvels of beauty and elegance. The Hollyhock requires a rich, deep soil, well drained, and will repay, in quantity and elegance of bloom, any extra care. A slight protection during winter will be beneficial. We make a specialty of Hollyhocks, and the seed we offer is saved from the very best double flowers of pure and bright colors. The mammoth flowers are won- derfully formed of loosely ar- ranged fringed petals, which look as if made from the finest China silk. The color varies from pale pink to deep red. The plants are of majestic growth, sending up spikes six to .seven feet high, and is of a strong constitution, not being troubled with the disease so prevalent among Hollyhocks.
