201006-N-DQ752-2168 ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 6, 2020) An F/A-18F Super Hornet, from the “Mighty Shrikes” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 94, makes an arrested gear landing on the flight deck aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Nimitz, the flagship of Nimitz Carrier Strike Group, is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations, conducting missions in support of OIR, and maritime security operations alongside regional and coalition partners.
