171102-N-UX013-245 PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 2, 2017) An amphibious assault vehicle (AAV) assigned to Combat Assault Battalion, AAV Company, maneuvers in the well deck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) after conducting an amphibious assault exercise during Blue Chromite. Blue Chromite is an annual exercise held between the Navy and Marine Corps to strengthen interoperability and increase naval integration and proficiencies in amphibious warfare.
