By the 15th of July the little plants should be transplanted either to the places where they are to bloom the following summer, or else they may be set out temporarily in rows about a foot apart, the plants eight inches apart, and finally transplanted early in October. Some evergreen branches, or a little straw or coarse hay, thrown over them when the ground begins to freeze, makes all the winter covering these plants ; Calycanthema {Cup and Saucer Canterbury Bells). This is unquestionably the finest type of this old- fashioned and much prized garden plant. They differ from the ordinarjf type in having an extra large calyx, which is of the same color as the flower, giving the appearance of a cup and saucer. They are effective either in the garden or grown in pots for conservatory or table decoration. We offer'them in separate colors, as weU as in mixture, viz.: PER PKT. 1735 Calycanthema Blue.
