In making these exposures I have obeyed onlythe dictates of my conscience and my own senseof outraged justice ; and now that I have madethem and the civilised world is aware of whatoccurs in the vast and tragic selvas of the RiverPutumayo, I feel that, as an honest man, I havedone my duty before God and before society andtrust that others, who are in a position to do so,will take up the defence of these unfortunates andthe prosecution and punishment of the humanhyenas responsible for these crimes.
