Last week was style week with all the large dry goods and department stores and from their standpoint it was a success; but it kept the florists guess- ing, for in former years the spring open- ings have covered a period of three weeks or so. It was all crowded into one week this year, making it unpleas- ant and not so profitable. Gust Pohl is beginning to cut a crop of sweet peas, which are of fine quality and find ready sale. While driving down Wisconsin street last Saturday morning the hoof of Wm. Eschrich's horse was caught in the car track and so badly injured that it re- quired an ambulance to convey the horse to a hospital. Mr. Eschrich is lo- cated in North Milwaukee, where he grows plants and bulbs. The Mueller & Schroeder Co. has mu- tually agreed to dissolve partnership. Mr. Schroeder, who resides in St. Louis, Mo., and was not active, has taken over the interests of F. W. Mueller. Mr. Mueller and his son, Gustav, have bought twenty acres of land at Brown Deer, Wis., where they will, as soon as weather permits, erect two 300-foot houses for carnations. The change will take effect April 1. Chas. Zepnick, wto is located out on Chicago avenue, has a fine crop of for- get-me-nots on and only hopes the weather will continue cool, so he can hold them for the Easter trade. The C. C. PoUworth Co. reports a busy week; lots of stock coming in and moving out. At the greenhouses all hands are rushed packing and shipping pot plants for the Easter trade. At the Brown Deer plant of the Hel- ton & Hunkel Co. they are cutting large quantities of American Beauties of extra fine quality. The Easter plants at the Humboldt av
