Risorite samples. This is a titanium-bearing variety of the mineral fergusonite, which is an oxide of yttrium and niobium, but can contain several additional rare earth elements as well. It is a lustrous black to brown, or greyish black, and usually has an amorphous appearance. These samples are from Gjerstad, Norway, and measure 50 mm wide.
